This experience was very good. However, when I tried to schedule the endoscopy I was transferred six times before I got to the right person. Quite concerning
I am thankful for the consistent care from all the staff.
The plan was reviewed and a paper copy was given to me.
Every time before I leave they make sure I don't have any questions about what I need to do for my after care.
I felt the medical provider gave the bare minimum amount of information without any personalized diagnosis or understanding of my individual health history or health goals. Scheduling has been a continued issue with MNGI.
I would especially like to commend the young woman who came into the room to review the doctor's notes and plans for me. She was so sweet and caring. I also would like to commend the lab tech who was very capable and caring too.
All good!
Dr recommended a blood test for celiac disease, EGD and follow-up visit. Pretty straight forward. After the Dr left, A junior nurse in training came in with a more experienced nurse with a print out of my treatment plan and the walked me through it. I said "Why are you here? The Dr left me 5 minutes ago and completely described what was going to happen next. Why are you retelling me the same thing?" The older nurse responded that they just want to make sure I understood the plan. I may be 63 years old, but my hearing is perfect and I am not an idiot. Yet having the nurses come in made me feel like your staff thought I was too dumb to understand a simple treatment plan. How about asking me if I had any questions rather than printing out the plan and stepping through it? I few days later, I get a call to set up the time for my EGD. The first question was what is my weight and height? What kind of question is that? You already have that information because the asst took my weight and height at the first visit. He says they have their own set of questions like the EGD procedure is done by a completely different company that doesn't have access to all the medical history answers I already provided. So he goes on for 8 minutes asking all kinds of questions I've already answered. The final nail in the coffin as to why I won't recommend your clinic is this. After the appt for the EGD was set, I get an email titled "Visit Forms" with, you guessed it, ANOTHER fricking medical history questionnaire! In this one, numerous questions about colonoscopies, and family history of cancer? WTF? I'm getting a scope put down my throat, not up my butt!
I was not told on my initial procedure that a follow-up procedure was optional. It was only explained to me (quite well) durIng my followup visit. I wish I had been given more information upfront about the second procedure. Trouble is, I was still coming out of sedation when the followup was discussed. Maybe a later consult should have been scheduled to go over the findings and talk about followup options.
Very helpful by taking time & not rushing to finish with me.
