Experience
Dr. Chen completed his medical school training in 1987 from Shanghai Medical University (currently known as Fudan University Shanghai Medical School). He subsequently attended graduate school and received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Minnesota in 1993. He did extensive research in Microbiology, Immunology and Gene Therapy at the University of Minnesota before completing his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2001. He was a staff physician (hospitalist) with the HealthPartners Department of Medicine at North Memorial Health Center in Robbinsdale, MN before completing his Gastroenterology fellowship from the University of Minnesota in 2005. Dr. Chen served on Education and International Committees of American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) and is an AGA Fellow.
