Experience
Dr. Pathirana practices advanced endoscopy as well as general gastroenterology. She completed general gastroenterology fellowship training with the US Army at San Antonio Military Medical Center and practiced in the military for 5 years. Following her military service, she completed an additional advanced gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Minnesota and joined MNGI Digestive Health in 2024.

Accomplishments
While serving as an Army Physician, Dr. Pathirana won several teaching awards including the Teaching Subspecialist of the Year award and the Clifford Powell Memorial Award for excellence in teaching. She served as the Internal Medicine Residency Associate Program Director and subsequently the Program Director at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in August, Georgia.
