Dr. Gunaratnam has been a practicing gastroenterologist for over 20 years. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Michigan and an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He is board-certified in gastroenterology. In 2019 he was recognized by the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) as a distinguished clinician in private practice and has been honored by Detroit Hour Magazine as a Top Doc for over ten consecutive years. He has served on the AGA committees developing evidence-based treatment programs for obesity management and has over 80 peer-reviewed publications in the field of gastroenterology. He is joining MNGI in 2024 to focus on metabolic health and obesity management.
