Mohamed Hassan, MD, FAASLD, is a gastroenterologist/hepatologist who treats adult patients with liver failure, acute liver diseases including viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver diseases and their sequalae i.e. cirrhosis of the liver and complications. He is board certified in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. He also performs procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies etc. He established a viral hepatitis center at the University of Minnesota and is working on creating a liver disease center for immigrant and refugee populations in the Twin Cities at MNGI. Dr Hassan has been rated Top Doctor multiple times in Mpls/St Paul Magazine as well as Minnesota Monthly. He also speaks multiple languages, including English, Italian, and Somali.
