I had to remind the clinic of various tests that had forgotten to be ordered that were discussed during the appointment. I also had to push once results were in for recognition of the problem. In addition despite catching mistake on the day, the test were still not run by the lab. I had t follow up to ask where they were rather than the clinic doing this. This has led to a fairly high level of stress since I have felt like I had to be on the watch for mistakes rather than trusting my care team to take care of me. Generally there was a lack of attention to detail and follow through and a possible misunderstanding of medical problem that revealed themselves on my bloodwork. Additional the wrong CT was ordered (abdomen instead of abdomen and chest), fecal flotations were cancelled as 3 had to be done but the front desk through the repeats were a mistake to cancelled them, my severe eosinophilia was apparently not recognized until I asked about it twice, and the adnexal mass noted on the CT report was not mentioned in my patient letter summarizing the report. Additionally the radiologist I was sent to for the CT was out of network (not really MNGIs fault) but I was unable to get guidance from my insurance company and so went with RAYUS since I felt the scan was urgent given my lab work findings. This left me with a fairly considerable out of pocket expense to pay since the facility is out of network for the Medica Vantage insurance plan. It would be great to have been sent to a radiology facility directly that was within the plan (like the imaging department at St. John's which I have since found out is under the network).
MNGI has helped me with some very difficult health issues and I am happy that they want to keep in touch with me.
I was given a summary of my visit and was told that someone from MN GI would call me to set up my next appointment. I felt an urgency to get an appointment and was told I could call right away. So I did. So it was a bit ambiguous at the end as far as how my next urgent appointment could be made.
I always have a great experience at MINGI.
